We were picked up at our agreed time and were able to chose our own pick up time. We were picked up in a private taxi. The drive in itself to the start of our hike was beautiful. Our guide was lovely. A local who spoke great English and was so knowledgeable about anything we asked him. He chatted with us the whole way giving us all kinds of interesting information. Such a nice man. As this was a hidden paths trek there were no other tourists what so ever. It was so quiet and peaceful. The only things we could hear were the frogs and birds. Hiking through olive groves,  rivers, secret pools and palm trees was amazing. We stopped for tea in a beautiful valley next to some deep pools where you can jump in and swim. You'll more than likely be the only people there. From there to a Berber family house where they cooked us lunch and let us have a look around their home. This was such a special experience and the family were so friendly. This trip was the highlight of our entire holiday and I will most definitely be booking other trips with this company if I return to the area. They ask for no money for the trip upfront. Is this hike suitable for beginners?

Yes. This is one of our easier guided hiking tours: 9 km with 400 m of ascent, spread over about 7 hours with regular stops, so the walking is never rushed.

There is nothing technical about it. The paths are uneven in places, but anyone comfortable on their feet for a day will manage easily. Hiking near Taghazout on this route is open from age 15.

What will we see along the way?

You walk through argan forest and terraced farmland, pass through the Berber villages of Ait Lhcen, and follow hidden trails down to the Ait Lhcen oasis with its waterfall and canyon — a green pocket in the middle of dry hills.

When the seasonal streams are running you can swim in the natural pools, so bring a swimsuit between late winter and spring.

Is hotel pickup included, and what time do we start?

Yes — pickup and drop-off are included at no extra cost from Agadir, Taghazout and Tamraght. We collect you at your hotel, riad or apartment at 9:00 am and bring you back in the late afternoon.
