How difficult is the El Gouz Summit hike?
This is our most demanding hike near Agadir. You climb 13 km with 1,160 metres of ascent, on rocky mountain paths rather than prepared trails. It takes about 7 hours of walking.
You don't need any technical climbing experience, but you do need good fitness and the habit of walking for several hours. If you have never done a long mountain day before, our Paradise Valley day trip is the better first hike.
What time does the hike start and how long does it last?
We start early, at 8:00 am, so that you reach the summit before the heat of the day and have time to enjoy the view. Plan for a full day: around 7 hours on the trail, sometimes 6 depending on the pace of the group, plus the drive each way.
You are normally back at your hotel in the late afternoon.
Is hotel pickup included, and where do you collect from?
Yes — pickup and drop-off are included at no extra cost from Agadir, Taghazout and Tamraght. We collect you at your hotel, riad or apartment and bring you back at the end of the day.

What is included in the price, and what should I bring?
The price of €60 per person covers your local Amazigh guide, hotel pickup and drop-off, a home-cooked lunch, drinking water, and a trail break with fresh fruit, almonds and dates. Groups of six or more pay €54 per person.
Bring proper walking shoes with grip, a hat, sunscreen, a light jacket for the summit, and a small backpack. Trainers are not enough for the rocky sections.
When is the best time of year for this hike near Agadir?
From October to April the conditions are ideal: cool mornings, clear air, and the best chance of seeing the Atlantic from the top. Spring adds wildflowers on the lower slopes.
The El Gouz Summit hike also runs in summer, but it is genuinely hot on the exposed sections, so the early start matters even more and you should carry extra water.
